Contracts generated

ERA-compliant employment contracts written for your sector. Probation, zero-hours, fixed-term, casual — handled. Every doc carries an "AI-generated, QA-reviewed" caveat. Plain English. No HR jargon.

Alerts

Commencement-date alerts

ERA 2025 rolls out in phases. 6 Apr 2026 live. 1 Jan 2027 hard deadline (unfair dismissal qualifying period drops to 6 months). 2027 rolling: fire-and-rehire restrictions, guaranteed hours. We alert you before each phase hits.

Growth tier

Disciplinary builder

Written warning, PIP letter, dismissal letter — generated, QA reviewed, human-gated. We will never automate the disciplinary decision itself. You decide. We help you do it properly.

HR Bundle

Payroll runner

Staffology API integration. Runs your monthly payroll. RTI submissions to HMRC. P60s. P11Ds. SSP, SMP, NMW handled. Integrated with your leave tracker so there's no double entry.

HR Bundle

Employee portal

Your staff log in, see their payslips, request leave, sign contracts digitally. JWT + RLS so each employee sees only their own data. Plays nicely with sole.tax for self-assessment-eligible staff.

The ERA 2025 commencement timeline

If you employ anyone in the UK, these dates are non-negotiable

We track every one — and alert you before each phase hits.

18 Dec 2025
Royal Assent. Employment Rights Act 2025 becomes law. Every UK employer's existing contract → instantly non-compliant in at least one of 16+ new mandatory clauses.
6 Apr 2026 Live now
Day-one rights commenced. SSP from day one (no 3-day waiting period). Paternity leave day-one right. Flexible working day-one right. If your contracts still say "qualifying period applies" — they are wrong.
1 Jan 2027 Hard deadline
Unfair dismissal qualifying period → 6 months. Down from 2 years. Tribunal exposure jumps for every employer with staff hired in the last 6 months. Every contract needs reviewing before this date.
2027 Rolling
Fire and rehire restrictions + guaranteed hours for zero-hours workers. Each tightens what casual contracts can say. If you employ on zero-hours, your contracts almost certainly need rewriting.

FAQ

The questions every micro-employer asks

Straight answers on what employ.law is — and what it isn't.

Are you a law firm? Do you give legal advice?

No. We are a compliance preparation specialist, not a law firm. Every output we generate is reviewed by qualified employment-law operators on our trained QA team before delivery. Contracts and letters carry an "AI-generated, QA-reviewed" caveat. If your situation needs legal advice — tribunal claims, complex disputes, contested terminations — we route you to a partner solicitor at a disclosed referral fee.

What does "ERA 2025 compliant" actually mean?

ERA 2025 added 16+ new mandatory clauses to UK employment contracts plus revised existing ones. Day-one SSP, day-one paternity, day-one flexible working (live 6 Apr 2026). 6-month unfair dismissal qualifying period (1 Jan 2027). Fire-and-rehire restrictions and zero-hours guaranteed-hours rules (2027 rolling). A compliant contract has all current mandatory clauses, is signed by both parties, and is logged for a tribunal-ready audit trail. We track all of this.

I have a 4-person bakery. Is this overkill?

It's the opposite of overkill — it's the only product tuned to your size. BrightHR and Peninsula are £150–400/mo, designed for HR directors. SimplyDocs and LawDepot sell static templates with no compliance tracking. Local solicitors charge £500–2k per contract. We're £29/mo, AI-generated, QA reviewed, plain English. Built for a bakery owner.

What if HMRC or a tribunal questions a contract I generated here?

Every contract carries an audit trail: when generated, what version of ERA 2025 commencement rules it was checked against, which QA reviewer signed off, your acknowledgement. For tribunal questions specifically, we provide your documentation pack and refer you to our partner solicitor for representation. Growth and HR Bundle tiers include £500 (Growth) / £2,500 (HR Bundle) of legal-fee cover for first-instance documentation defence.

How does the payroll integration work?

HR Bundle includes Staffology API integration. You set up your employer once (we walk you through it). Then every month we run payroll, submit RTI to HMRC, generate payslips for the portal, and reconcile against your leave tracker. SSP, SMP, NMW, employer NI all handled. P60s at year-end, P11Ds for benefits-in-kind. You approve every run before it submits.

Will this work with my existing accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)?

Yes — read-only data export to your accounts package on every payroll run. We do NOT pull data out of those tools — payroll runs from employ.law as the source of truth, then exports to accounting. This is the canonical pattern recommended by HMRC for SME payroll.

Who reviews the documents before I get them?

Every contract, disciplinary letter, dismissal letter, and PIP we generate passes through our trained QA team before it reaches you. Reviewers score 1–5; 4+ passes, 3 is flagged for re-draft, 2 or below is failed and routed to a senior reviewer. They are qualified employment-law operators and they own the quality bar. AI does the draft; humans own the quality.

What if I cancel?

Cancel any time. Export all your contracts, letters, payroll history, employee records as PDF + CSV. We retain your data for the HMRC-required period (6 years for payroll) then delete unless you opt to extend. No contracts lock you in. The free trial is 14 days, no card needed.
